Happy New Year Friends! We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, we had a great Christmas, we closed the b&b for a few weeks in December to give us time to relax with our family and friends. Christmas Eve we celebrated with my family in Toronto, got a chance to visit with my mom, my sisters and all the nephews and nieces.  On Christmas day we set the table for 12  and had Ed’s family join us, we had a full house for a few days. (good thing we own a b&b) By New Years Eve we had enough of family and it was all about friends. We invited our oldest and dearest friends who are more like family to us, to help ring in 2015.

Now that we have had a good rest we are eager to get back to work. We would  like you to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake in 2015 and experience for yourself why we think this is the most beautiful town. January is going to be a busy month here, with the Icewine Festival which has been increased to three weekends this year.

Most of the wineries are open all year round and offer passes for wine tasting and food sampling. One place we plan on visiting is Peller Estates Winery, where you can toast a large marshmallow in an outdoor bonfire and sip icewine.

The main street, ‘Queen Street’, can be just as busy in the winter as it is in the summer with tourist visiting all year round. You can count on some good sales in the stores this time of year too. After shopping try one of the many restaurants that are open and serving up comfort food.

December 28, 2014 we had Lachmi and Patrick at our b&b celebrating their honeymoon, after taking a horse and carriage ride through town, they toured wineries and had marvelous dinners at Pillar and Post and Queens Landing.

Winter in Niagara-on-the-Lake  can be cold, and we do have snow on the ground, but that doesn’t stop us from  having lots of ways to enjoy the winter. We hope you will consider visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake and if you do, we hope you will stay at demi’s place bed & breakfast in 2015.
